Julian Rosefeldt – Manifesto
The exhibition “Manifesto” by Julian Rosefeldt is an extraordinary work by the acclaimed contemporary German artist. It features 13 video projections, with the outstanding Cate Blanchett embodying thirteen distinct characters who deliver some of the most significant political and artistic manifestos of the 20th century. This ambitious project was presented at the Centre of Contemporary Art “Znaki Czasu” in Toruń, with a unique spatial arrangement that immersed visitors in a labyrinth of suspended screens.
Technical solutions applied in the installation:
Projection system:
- The installation utilized high-performance projectors from Panasonic, known for their superior image quality, reliability, and ability to operate in challenging environments.
- The projection screens were suspended from the ceiling of the exhibition hall, requiring precise calibration of projectors to ensure seamless alignment and high-resolution image delivery across all 13 screens.
Video playback system:
- Synchronization across the 13 projections was achieved using BrightSign media players, renowned for their reliability and advanced synchronization capabilities.
- This allowed for smooth playback and precise timing, which was crucial for maintaining the immersive narrative flow and ensuring consistency across all video channels.
Audio system:
- Audio equipment from Fohhn was employed to deliver a rich, multi-layered sound experience. The system was carefully designed to create localized audio zones for each projection, ensuring that the sound matched the visual content without interference between the screens.
- This meticulous audio design enhanced the immersive quality of the installation, drawing viewers deeper into the narratives conveyed by Cate Blanchett’s performances.
Custom technical solutions by Eidotech Polska:
- Eidotech Polska contributed bespoke technical solutions tailored to the unique requirements of the exhibition space and the complexity of the installation. These customizations ensured smooth integration of all technical components and allowed for optimal use of the available space.
Spatial adaptation:
