MSN: The Impermanent Exhibition, 4 x Collection
Technical Design and Multimedia Installation
In February 2025, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (MSN) opened “The Impermanent Exhibition, 4 x Collection”, a major presentation of over 150 works by around 100 artists and collectives. Divided into four thematic paths – politics, abstraction, pop, and spirituality – the show explores different perspectives on art created since the 1950s, with a strong emphasis on historical context and collection building.

Scope of Work
Our team was responsible for the complete technical design and installation of all audiovisual systems, fully adapted to the curatorial vision and the strict conservation requirements of the exhibition space. Key components of the project included:
- Large-format video projection – the visual centerpiece of the exhibition.
- High-performance audio system – covering main area of the gallery with clarity and power.
- Integration of analog and digital technologies – ensuring seamless synchronization of film projectors and digital content.
- Non-invasive mounting solutions – using stage trussing systems to avoid any physical intervention in the gallery architecture.
Equipment Used
We employed a carefully selected mix of high-end professional equipment, including:
Visual:
- AVStumpfl 800 × 450 cm – large-format projection screen.
- Barco UDX-4K40 – high-brightness 4K laser projector for crisp and detailed images.
- EIKI EX-4000P – xenon 16mm film projector used for screening archival material in its original format.
Audio:
- 3× d&b D20 – professional power amplifiers.
- 2× d&b Y10P, 8× d&b Y12, 6× d&b Y-Sub – a full-range professional loudspeaker setup offering precision and dynamic sound.
Signal Processing:
- 3× Fohhn FC-9 – DSP audio processors, providing detailed tuning and zone management across the audio system.
Key Challenge
One of the most demanding aspects of the project was installing a massive screen, projector, and professional sound system without drilling into the walls or ceilings of the exhibition space. We overcame this by designing and deploying a freestanding truss structure, enabling secure mounting of all AV components without compromising the building’s integrity.
Result
The result is a seamlessly integrated multimedia environment, where analog projection, state-of-the-art video, and immersive sound come together to enhance the curatorial narrative. The exhibition balances technical precision with respect for historical context and artistic expression.
